Campbell Hardware
Campbell Company was founded in 1972. Campbell Company was a subsidiary of H.D. Campbell, an electrical components distributing company. Campbell Company was founded solely to
provide products to the traffic industry.
Campbell Company was one of the first to supply the traffic industry with a reliable 2” ADA compliant pedestrian push button.
Campbell Company’s tradition continues today. Each product manufactured by the Campbell Company is initiated on the concept of value, utility, and durability. This is evident in the innovativeness of the products we manufacture and supply to the traffic industry.Campbell Company manufactures three basic levels of APS devices:
- Vibrotactile Only- VTO: A simple means of providing a vibrotactile signal to the pedestrian at the PPB when the walk signal is on.
- Advisor Base Broadcast Unit - BBU: A ped head mounted device that gives an audible signal when the walk signal is on.
- Advisor Fully integrated Pedestrian Station - FIPS: A pedestrian station based unit that provides audible, tactile, and visual signals to the pedestrian.
- Vibrotactile Only (VTO): The VTO gives the pedestrian a vibrotactile signal when the walk sign is on. This is an unobtrusive means of providing the pedestrian 100 percent confidence that the walk light is on. There is a vibrotactile signal positively identifying a walk cycle eliminating the pedestrian having to “guess” if they are going to wander through a “Don’t Walk” signal at the crossing.
- Advisor, Base Broadcast Unit (BBU): The Advisor BBU replaces the “squawk” boxes that sit on top of the ped head. Advisor BBU directs the audible walk signal down from the base of the ped head to the crosswalk initiation point. This design provides the pedestrian a positive audible signal when the walk cycle has started.
Advisor, Fully Integrated Pedestrian Station (FIPS): The FIPS unit utilizes the base unit driver board and includes a pedestrian station to provide:- Audible feedback and signals: acknowledgement, location message, and walk cycle signals.
- Visual feedback: an LED when the call has been placed.
- Tactile feedback: a vibrotactile arrow that initiates with the walk cycle.
4 EVR Non-Moving Piezo Pushbutton
Campbell Company’s newest product is the 4 EVR, non-moving piezo pushbutton.
The 4 EVR has no moving parts so it will never wear out and it cannot stick. The 4 EVR is also TS2 Compliant: minimum 120 ms signal duration!
Operating Description:
4 EVR is virtually vandal proof. The actuator is designed to have minimal movement (pressure sensitive) and uses no screws or bolts, which can be bent or broken, in the functioning assembly. An LED and an audible buzzer are momentarily activated with the pedestrian call, the LED can become latching with addition of an Enlightened Interface Panel. A 120 ms minimum and 1000 ms maximum signal is sent to the controller, 4 EVR CANNOT BE STUCK IN A CLOSED OR CONSTANT CALL POSITION.
The Campbell Company has provided access at the intersection for over 30 years. We are proud to manufacture and support products that allow all individuals access to our community. We stand behind our products and guarantee complete satisfaction.
